New Fashion Line Round Up

Lately I've been hearing about quite a few new clothing lines from celebrities. This post is dedicated to the new fashion lines out there.

First up is Macy Gray. She launched her line, The Natalie Hinds Collection, earlier this month. (Natalie Hinds is her government name.) It's high-end women's ghetto chic clothing. She's also created SNAC for men's fashion. In the future you can look for HUMPS, her line for voluptuous women. Look for The Natalie Hinds Collection in upscale stores this fall.

In my last post I talked about Paris Hilton's upcoming shoe line. This month, she debuted her clothing line. She launched the line at Kitson in Los Angeles. Just like Paris, it's fun, bright, and flashy. (Her words, not mine.) The line includes shoes, tees, and jeans. Click here to shop Paris Hilton at Kitson.

Also this month (August is popular for new lines!), Amanda Bynes launched her clothing line, Dear. It's offered exclusively at Steve & Barry's. Steve & Barry's might sound familiar...it's the store that carries Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line. Click here to check out Dear.

Last but not least, is Tina Knowles. Since she actually has experience in the fashion industry, this one makes the most sense. Her new line, Miss Tina, premiered recently over at The Home Shopping Network (HSN). According to Miss Tina, her styles are creole-inspired, upscale, and figure flattering. The line is exclusive to HSN. Click here to check it out.

I think I got them all. Let me know if you know of one I missed.

Paris Hilton Footwear

It looks like Paris Hilton is the latest celebrity to throw her hat into the fashion ring. She recently signed with Antebi Footwear Group to launch Paris Hilton Footwear. The shoes should hit stores early next year.

Liz Claiborne (1929-2007)

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, fashion designer Liz Claiborne passed away at the age of 78 after battling cancer. Liz Claiborne Inc was founded in 1976 to provide fashionable, work appropriate wardrobes to women entering the workforce. Today, the company is comprised of over 40 brands and creates fashion for everyone.

It's been a while since I bought anything from Liz Claiborne, but I do remember that my first real purse was a Liz. It was in elementary school, in the 80s, and I thought I was doing it! Little did I know that was the beginning of what has become a very serious love affair with handbags. It's become quite a collection...and I owe it all to Liz.

Rest in peace, Liz Claiborne, and thank you for your contributions to the fashion world.

Happy First Day of Summer!

In case you didn't know, today was the first day of summer. Hopefully, you guys had some nice summertime weather. It was cloudy and muggy here for most of the day. Boo!

Now that summer is here, help protect your eyes from the sun and look good doing it. Every girl needs a nice pair of sunglasses; a pair that makes you feel like a celebrity. I've heard people say they don't spend alot of money on sunglasses because they'll lose them. Believe me...when you spend enough money on a pair, you keep up with them!

Check these out...

Details (left to right, top to bottom): Ray-Ban, $109.95 at Sunglass Hut; Dolce & Gabbana, $215 at Sunglass Hut; Ralph Aviator, $89 at Ralph Lauren; Ralph Wide Shield Wrap, $99 at Ralph Lauren; Michael Kors, $93.95 at Zappos; Gucci, $129.99 at Overstock

Each pair comes in other colors, so check out the links.

I hope the weather here improves, so I can wear my stunna shades too!

Stay cool this summer!

Sundresses

So...it's been a while since my last post. I apologize for being a bad blogger, but I have a reason. I went out of town on vacation, so that means I had to get ready for my trip and then I had to recuperate after my trip.

Anyway, on the good stuff...it's almost summer and we must govern ourselves and our wardrobes accordingly. For me, that means sundresses. I love sundresses! There's not alot of prep work to be done. Hit it with the iron, just throw it on and you're done. With the variety of styles out there, there are endless possibilities. Whether you're going out with the girls, a wedding, or just out and about, there's a sundress out there that fits the occasion. Check out these cute styles...

Details (left to right, top to bottom): Marybeth Dress, $175 at J. Crew; Sarah Button-Back Cotton Cady Dress, $295 at J. Crew; Maggy London Burnout Leaf Empire Dress, $97.50 at Macy's; Suzi Chin Empire Sundress, $81 at Macy's; Donna Morgan Empire Waist Sundress, $98 at Nordstrom; Lilly Pulitzer Gweneth Dress, $228 at Nordstrom; Trina Turk Barbara Super Charm Dress, $248 at Nordstrom; Sunset Plaid Halter Dress, $59 at Ann Taylor Loft

Because there are so many styles, there's one for every body type - hippy, big chest, small chest, whatever. My fav is something flowy with an empire waist. Not sure what works with your body? Leave a comment and I'll try to help you out.

Get Bitten

It was reported earlier this Spring that Mrs. Fashionista herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, would be launching her very own fashion line. The line, Bitten, will premiere June 7 and will be available exclusively at Steve & Barry's. The interesting part is that everything is less than $20! She admits that her pieces might not be as trendy as some other celebrity lines out there, but focuses on quality and affordability.

From what I've seen, everything looks really cute on her (But doesn't everything look cute on her?), but I don't know how I feel about it yet. I guess I'll have to check it out for myself. There's a photo spread and interview in the June issue of Glamour and it seems like the outfits are kinda basic and can really be made special with the right accessories.
Check out the official Bitten website to take a look at the line and to find a Steve & Barry's near you.

What do you think about the line?
